Chapter 16: In the Empty Cabin
The second night, she felt a strange tinge of loneliness. The walls echoed with each gentle whisper from her sleeping companion's lips, and she couldn't shake the feeling that this man was not just a colleague but also an intimate partner in every way. She remembered the previous evening when they had shared a bed, how their bodies intertwined like a beautiful tapestry. But tonight... tonight felt different.
He turned to face her, looking at her with eyes filled with vulnerability. "I'm sorry for being late this morning." He seemed genuinely regretful and shy. It was a familiar feeling that made her smile slightly as she moved closer to him, the blanket cocooning them both in warmth. They sat on his narrow bed, arms around each other's waists.
"Everything okay?" She asked softly, looking into his eyes with concern.
"I'm fine." He replied, but there was a hint of disappointment in his voice.
She understood where he was coming from. They had only just met and shared the first night together. It wasn't easy to share such intimate moments on the plane—especially when everything felt so fleeting. But her heart longed for this man she couldn't forget. She could still recall the way their lips touched, a brief but powerful kiss that left her wanting more.
She leaned in closer, placing her hand gently on his arm. "Let's be honest," she said softly, "this is all just a vacation. The plane is your home and I'm yours."
He looked at her with a mix of confusion and understanding, then nodded slowly. "You're right. This isn't about vacations or work but... our friendship."
She smiled warmly, knowing that their feelings were mutual. They could now share more of themselves without fear of judgment. The next day in the morning light, they found themselves facing each other again, ready to face whatever tomorrow would bring.
The second night together was a beautiful reminder of how much she missed him already and how excited she felt about what was to come. It wasn't just about being on opposite sides of the world—it was about sharing something precious in this empty cabin.
It was then that they both understood: They were more than colleagues or business partners—they were soulmates waiting to be found, and their connection had already started long ago through the quiet spaces and shared dreams on that narrow flight.
